Charmquilt

Het nieuwe jaar thema van de Quiltgroep is in december duidelijk geworden.
We gaan een charmquilt maken. Leuk!!!!!!
Mij kennende dook ik gelijk in mijn lapjesvoorraad en mijn mallen.
Komt die jaren geleden in Amerika bestelde supergrote hexagon toch nog van pas...


The theme of the year with our quiltgroup is 'charmquilt' Love it!!!!
Typical me I jumped right in my fabricstash.
I just knew that the very large hexagons I ordered years ago in the states would come in handy..










Ik wilde een ouderwetse look hebben en ben al mijn rozen en bloemenstofjes bij elkaar gaan sprokkelen, heb gelijk de kast van mam geplunderd (sorry mam!, je krijgt van mij lapjes terug)


I want a old fashion look (vintage) and took all my roses and flower fabric out. At the same time I went through my Mothers fabricstash (sorry Mom!, I give you some fabrics in return)


Ik ben met het snijden gelijk bezig om dezelfde stofjes ook voor een tweede quilt te snijden, een gewone one-patch vierkant. Een bank heeft tenslotte meerdere hoeken en ik maak van beide een plaid als kussen vermomd..

Went straight to the cutting table and cut two blocks, one for the half hexagons, with a 2inch stripe for the binding, and one block for the other quilt. I make two because my couch has more than one corner. (one with the hexagons, the other just a one patch 6 inch block mixed with 12 inch blocks.) I make two plaids disguised as pillows...



Het enige is, dat hoe ik de halve hexagons in patroon wil neerleggen wel heel veel lijkt op de quilt die Heidi nu aan het maken is. En nu dacht ik dat ik zo orgineel was.. Ik hoop dat je het niet erg vind Heidi..?











Only thing is that the patern wich I want to use for the hexagons looks a lot like the quilt Heidi is making right now. And I just thought I was original.. Hope you don't mind Heidi..?
