voorjaarprojectjes (little.. spring projects)

I kept myself busy with two fun projects. I bought a new camera, and I had to get familiar with it.
Now spring is finally here, there are so much great spring photo's to take. Love how nature shows her colors and young animals. I like to dig in my garden, but most of all, to sit in my garden and enjoy the sun!

I showed in the last blog my typical Dutch window screens. A great buy, but they had to get a make-over. So little by little we getting there. First I sand them, check if the wood still is good connected. Or I give it a bit of glue. Then the first ground paint is on. Two more coats of white paint, and a lot of sanding in between. Last part is getting the old Dutch window drapes nice and tight in the screens. Almost 1 done, I have to get the last staples in, and a white kind of lace/ribbon over the staples.
So 1 down, 5 more to go.....

  3. I have never seen those kind of window screens, Saskia. They are fascinating and will look beautiful when you are finished with them. What a great idea to have something to block the direct sun and to look good at the same time.

Spring is taking it's time to arrive here in Nova Scotia. It teases us and then decides to hide for a few days. I'm jealous of your spring weather!

  4. Interesting - those window screens. I don't think I have ever seen them before. Your spring photos looks wonderful. Spring is taking a long time to get here. Yesterday we had a snowstorm. It didn't stay, but we could hardly see across the road when it was coming down.

  6. Hi Saskia! No I did not fall off the face of the earth but have had a FM attack between all the work here since Friday. Am going to send you the photos today I PROMISE! I could not use my photo software last week...long story. I did just post about it though and the one before that which I never posted. Thanks for a fun day once again!

Love the spring photos. The cows are by your house I think but do they have sheep in the field too? What fun if they do! Enjoy the sunshine. I am going to sit out in it today with my stitching I think after a trip to the garden center.

The window screen turned out adorable!

    Quilted hugs,
    Heidi

I'm going to be happy today,
Though the skies may be cloudy and gray
No matter what may come my way
I'm going to be happy today.
