The last two days, I blogged about my grandmother. So it is good to show her. My grandma was a lady with a mind of her own. She grew up in a family who where on the barricades, and lobbyed for unions. I think that if my grandma lived in my time, she would have been a carrier woman. She was a though lady, and we had oure differences. But I loved her anyway.

The last years she lived in a senior home, and she had problems with her memory. But we still laughed and had fun, and she read the newspaper attentive. I visited her once a week/once in two weeks. I always brought something sweet with me for teatime. She loved creampuffs, and I remember that I put them on the table and while I was making tea, she would ask me,'o good, creampuffs, I take one oke ?' 'Sure grandma' I would anser, and by the time I came back with the tea, there where not that may creampuffs left. At the first cup of tea she would say; 'the creampuffs, it's a long time I had them, I take one?'. after a while, 'do you want a creampuff?, or can have them, it's a long time I ate them'. She didn't mind I would not eat the puffs, she ate them all..

Grandma died a month after her 96th birthday. It's over 2 years ago, but she's still very often in my thoughts. She was a outstanding lady!

That is a wonderful story about your Gramma. I bet you never see a cream puff without thinking of her.

  2. Grandmothers are magic! Mine was so special to me and died very quickly after I immigrated. We still talk about her all the time and she is always in my heart. I am glad you have a special one in your heart too!

P.S. ~ I have to fight to read your blog now too. It goes all black and I cannot read any text. My mother was having the same problem.

  3. I'm not sure exactly why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.

I'm going to be happy today,
Though the skies may be cloudy and gray
No matter what may come my way
I'm going to be happy today.
